Share the Wealth: Nuvolo Implementations in ServiceNow

In this week’s Share the Wealth video, Michelle Murtha of GlideFast gives an overview and demonstration of Nuvolo Implementations in ServiceNow.

What is Nuvolo?

Nuvolo is an enterprise asset management (EAM) company that offers an easy-to-use platform built on ServiceNow. The third-party software company primarily focuses on facilities, clinical, lab, and manufacturing EAM. Additional features include space and move management and product offerings for medical device cyber security, which can be found in the ServiceNow AppStore — though this requires special Nuvolo Licensing to download. The focus of this overview will be on facilities and clinical EAM.

How Nuvolo Works

Nuvolo is a scoped app within ServiceNow. The ServiceNow Instance includes standard user access to ServiceNow (SSO, LDAP, etc.) and end user access to ServiceNow via Service Portal. A unique feature of Nuvolo is that it integrates to AutoCad and can perform a one-way, on-demand data pull. There is also a Nuvolo mobile app that maintains a local database and allows for offline mode and data syncing.

Common Elements

Shared platform elements with ServiceNow include users, roles, groups, dashboards, homepages, reports, portals, email notifications, CMDB base table and models, asset types and parts, departments, cost centers, purchase and transfer orders, task base table, and knowledge.

Unique Elements

Platform elements unique to Nuvolo include company (vendors, manufactures, etc.), locations and space hierarchy, CI class (extended from CI_CMDB), models and parts (extended from ServiceNow), work orders and work projects (extended from task), stockrooms, contracts, risk model and calculations, maintenance schedules and recurrence frequencies, knowledge block (extended from knowledge), and checklists.

Who Uses Nuvolo

Clients in a variety of industries can benefit from Nuvolo. These include:

  • Healthcare organizations — any group who needs to manage Clinical Assets

  • Organizations where IT and Facilities need to work together (especially in onboarding, offboarding, transfers, moves, etc.)

  • Any organization asking about using ServiceNow to manage Facilities

  • Any organization who want to use floor mapping capabilities within ServiceNow

  • Any ServiceNow customer who originally implemented ServiceNow Facilities Management

Additional Features

In this demonstration, Michelle explores the different features on the navigation bar, focused on enterprise asset management including Clinical Asset Management, Facilities Asset Management, Lab and Manufacturing Asset Management, and Nuvolo properties. She further explores the following features: Service Catalog, Work Orders and Out-of-the-Box functions, Assets (specifically Facility Devices), Facility Asset Management Admin, and Scheduled Maintenance.
