How were you first introduced to ServiceNow? What was your first job using the platform?

I started my career with android development in 2010 and due to location constraints, I had to move to service management and operations. There, I first used ServiceNow as an end user to work on incidents, changes, problems, projects, etc. However, I always had questions about the functionality, fields, etc, so I used to reach out to the ServiceNow team directly. One time, a ServiceNow team member was stuck with some code logic and I helped him — that's when I realized that as I have coding experience and I have been using this platform, I should explore it as I was already in love with this platform.

What other jobs have you had working with ServiceNow?

I was just an end user and when I decided to explore it further ( i.e. from an admin or developer perspective). I had no clue where to start. I tried finding things on the internet and I came to learn about the ServiceNow community. There, I asked questions on how I could learn ServiceNow or if someone can give initial basic training. Many people contacted me with their "rate card"; however, Robert Fedrouk not only showed me the direction but also helped me understand the core platform.

I used to take sessions after IST midnight time and attend the office the next day and would work and complete ServiceNow assignments in the office. Once I learned that the market needed proven experience, which I did not have yet but luckily my company trusted me, I then interviewed and was hired as a ServiceNow Admin. Later, I started working as a ServiceNow Developer.

What are your primary ServiceNow skills?

  • I have mostly worked on ITSM, a bit of ITBM, integrations, etc.

  • Certs: CSA, CAD, CSM

I am still learning and trying to find what interests me more. So far, I have loved everything in the ServiceNow platform.

What are your plans for the future in your career and in the ServiceNow industry?

My goal is to become a successful ServiceNow Architect who knows the core platform in and out. With the fact that the platform is growing with each release, I think no one knows all the modules; however, I want to attain a position, in terms of knowledge, where I can guide teams at least for 2-3 modules.
